Contemplative Aging
"Don?t just do something. Stand there." Could there be something, after all, to the Disengagement Theory of aging?
Psychologist James Hillman once remarked, "We live in a hyperactive society. Anything less than mania is considered depression." (Editor's note from HRM: I consider myself "Exhibit A" for Hillman?s diagnosis!).
Proponents of contemplative aging make us think differently about later life. Gerontologist Jane Thibault, author of 10 GOSPEL PROMISES FOR LATER LIFE, and psychotherapist Bob Weber have a website on "Contemplageing" at: http://msg2svc.net/clqkz/202008/51/26164/11954/0/S/axuj.html
Eugene Bianchi, author of AGING AS SPIRITUAL JOURNEY, has a new blog devoted to contemplative aging and invites dialogue on the subject. For his thoughts on this, see: http://msg2svc.net/clqkz/202008/52/26164/11955/0/S/axuj.html
For a Buddhist perspective on "Wisdom of the Old Aging Body" visit: http://msg2svc.net/clqkz/202008/53/26164/11956/0/S/axuj.html

Frases
